When did you start your journey with massage?
‘I first started learning massage in Bali 7 years ago. When I turned 18, I travelled to Turkey. Whilst there I spent my time in Istanbul, working in hotels, improving my massage technique. But after 4 years I decided to apply for visa’s in other countries to help broaden my knowledge and improve my skills. That’s when I first came to New Zealand.’
What first interested you about massage?
‘I enjoy it, that’s what led to my interest in learning massage. I find it interesting learning about all the different techniques, uses and benefits.’
What is your favourite massage technique?
‘For me, I don’t particularly like it when the massage is too ‘hard’. I prefer a softer more relaxing massage. So for me, Balinese massage is perfect. It helps you relax without applying too much strength and pressure. Perfect after a long day when you need to relax and let go.’
What do you like about working at Massage Eden?
‘What I like most about working at Massage Me is the people. We are all like one big family. All the staff are friendly and accommodating and we often meet up outside of worker hours to catch up and have fun. As I’m still new to the team, this kind of warmth helped me feel at home and put my mind at ease.’
What massage technique do you most recommend to your customers?
Balinese massage is the way to go for me. It’s my culture and was the first style of massage that I ever learnt. It’s what I’m most confident in and without fail has always met my client’s expectations.
What massage training have you received?
I have been trained in many different styles of massage. Mainly:
- Balinese
- Deep Tissue
- Thai Yoga
- Shiatsu
- Aromatic massage
